Who are we ? What do we do ?

The 89th Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle Sea Scouts, based in Hanford, has been a second home to our members for more than 10 years. Set up in 1932 we have expanded to offer multiple sections, who deliver activities for young people between the ages of 6 to 18 years old. As Sea Scouts, we are full members of the Scouting Movement in the UK, working towards the same badges, following the same rules and working alongside our fellow “Land” Scout groups in the district. Whilst working towards those badges we also focus on water activities, including Kayaking and Sailing.

Scouting helps children and young adults reach their full potential and make a positive impact in their communities. Through fun and challenging activities, Scouts develop skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. We help young people to get jobs, save lives and even change the world
